How did these sides perform over the weekend? Find out below!
NPL affiliate: Adelaide United (NPL South Australia)
This weekend: Adelaide United v Adelaide Olympic, Saturday August 28 2:30pm, Jack Smith Park
Adelaide United run of four losses came to an end over the weekend with a 1-1 draw over Adelaide Olympic.
Adelaide United opened the scoring in the 24th minute through midfielder Johnny Yull, with the 16-year-old continuing to impress at NPL level.
United then conceded seven minutes later, Olympic’s forward Fausto Erba would find the net in the 31st minute to score his 10th goal of the season.
With the scores tied at 1-1 at halftime, neither side could break the deadlock in the second half.
NPL affiliate: Brisbane Roar (NPL Queensland)
This weekend: Brisbane Roar v Redlands, Saturday August 28 7:30pm, Compass Grounds
NPL affiliate: Perth Glory (NPL Western Australia)
This weekend: Perth Glory v Balcatta, Saturday August 28 3:00pm, Grindleford Reserve
The Glory have climbed back into the top four with a 3-3 draw over Balcatta over the weekend.
The Glory would score the opening goal of the game in the 16th minute.
After Charlie Leech’s shot would be denied by the keeper, Joshua Anasmo would pounce and find the net.
Balcatta pegged a goal back ten minutes later through Hristijan Jankuloski before Leech would put the Glory ahead again ten minutes before halftime.
Ahead 2-1 at halftime, Balcatta would equalise in the 55th minute, though the Glory would answer back once again.
It would come about similar to the Glory’s first goal, Leech’s shot denied by the keeper before landing at the feet of a teammate.
This time it was Tyler Vecchio, who score the go ahead goal in the 73rd that looked to have secured victory.
But Balcatta would leave it late to find an equaliser, deep into stoppage time they’d be awarded a penalty with Amir Ajan converting from the spot.
